A small yacht, a long day ashore, and enough time to see Ephesus properly rather than quickly.

The short answer

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection's ships, Ilma and Evrima, dock at Kusadasi's Ege Port alongside every other line, not at a separate anchorage. Calls run long for such a small ship, about eleven to twelve hours ashore on every date in our schedule, typically a morning arrival and a late evening departure. That gives real room for a full day at Ephesus, with time to add a second stop such as the House of the Virgin Mary.

A long day for a small ship

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection's calls at Kusadasi run long for such a small ship: about eleven to twelve hours ashore on every call in our data, typically a morning arrival and a departure well into the evening. Ilma, the newer of the two yachts to call here, carries up to 448 guests; Evrima, the smaller of the pair, carries up to 298. Either way, you are one of a few hundred people coming ashore, not a few thousand.

How the yacht's own excursions work

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection sells its own shore excursions in three tiers: small group tours, private tours planned by the yacht's own destination team, and a fully custom private day built around what you want to see. That third tier is close to what we offer as an independent local guide, so the choice often comes down to who plans it, the yacht's own team or a local team that works this port every week.

A yacht this size docks easily

Kusadasi's Ege Port has eight berths on two finger piers, with the longest of them running 387 meters. Ilma, at 241 meters, and Evrima, at 190 meters, are both well within that range, so there is no tendering and no separate anchorage for either yacht at this port, just a shorter walk from a smaller ship to the same terminal exit everyone else uses.

What eleven hours ashore allows

Eleven or twelve hours is enough for Ephesus, the Terrace Houses, the Temple of Artemis and the House of the Virgin Mary in one day, without rushing any of them. The Road of Paul and John fits comfortably in that window, and for a smaller party who would rather set their own order, Your Ship, Your Day is built entirely from your own list.

Questions cruise guests ask us

Where does the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection dock at Kusadasi?

At Kusadasi's Ege Port, the same pier used by every larger ship calling here; Ilma and Evrima do not need a separate anchorage at this port. You leave through the regular terminal exit, where our guide is waiting outside with a sign carrying your name; it takes about a minute to meet up once you step out.

Does the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection include shore excursions?

No. Like most lines, its shore excursions are booked and paid separately, in three tiers from small group tours up to a fully custom private day. An independent private guide is a similar idea to that top tier, planned by a local team rather than the yacht's own staff.

How many hours do Ritz-Carlton guests get ashore at Kusadasi?

About eleven to twelve hours on every call in our current schedule, typically a morning arrival and a departure well into the evening. That is enough time to see Ephesus fully and add a second stop, such as the House of the Virgin Mary or the Temple of Artemis.

How often does the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection call at Kusadasi?

Four times in our current schedule: once in October 2026, then once each in May, July and August 2027, split between Ilma and Evrima. If your sailing date is not yet listed, send it to us directly and we will check your ship's plan.

Is a private guide worth it for such a small ship?

Many Ritz-Carlton guests already travel in a small private group by nature of the yacht, so a private guide simply continues that pace on land. It suits a couple, a family or a small circle of friends who would rather set their own order through the day than join others.
