AIDA calls at Kuşadası mostly in the warmer months, with a single October date on our schedule, and every call runs a full nine to ten hours, plenty of time for more than a quick look at Ephesus.

The short answer

AIDAblu docks at Kuşadası mostly from spring through early fall, plus one October call, with every call on our schedule running nine to ten hours, in by 08:00 to 10:00 and sailing again near 18:00 or 19:00. That is a full day, enough for Ephesus plus the Terrace Houses or the House of the Virgin Mary. We can guide AIDA's German-speaking guests directly in German, and plan the day backward from your ship's all-aboard time.

A German-speaking guide, not a translation

AIDA is a German cruise line, and its announcements, its daily program and most of its guests are German-speaking. We can guide your AIDA day in German directly, so nothing is lost between a guide's English and your own understanding of what you are looking at.

People search for Kuşadası auf eigene faust, on your own, more than for almost anything else about this port on AIDA. Going on your own is entirely possible; a private guide simply adds the history, the context and someone watching the clock for you.

AIDAblu's long day at Kuşadası

Every AIDAblu call on our schedule runs nine to ten hours, arriving between 08:00 and 10:00 and sailing again near 18:00 or 19:00. That is a full day ashore, not a short stop, so there is time to see more of the Ephesus area than the ancient city alone.

Which tour fits a full AIDA day

With nine to ten hours in port, The Road of Paul and John fits comfortably, adding the House of the Virgin Mary and the Basilica of St. John to Ephesus itself. If you would rather stay inside Ephesus and go deeper there, Marble, Mosaics and Artemis adds the Terrace Houses instead. Both walk Ephesus downhill, from the Upper Gate to the Lower Gate, where your driver and vehicle are waiting, so the pace stays easy even in the afternoon heat. Either way, our All-Aboard Ephesus tour is built to flex if your plans or your ship's timing change.

AIDA's own season at this port

AIDAblu appears on our schedule from May through September, with a single call in October and nothing in the winter months. If your cruise is booked outside that window, Kuşadası is unlikely to be one of AIDA's Turkish stops on your sailing.

Multi-ship days when AIDA shares the pier

AIDAblu's calls are not always AIDA-only mornings. On several of the busiest dates on our full-year schedule, AIDAblu shares the pier with Royal Caribbean's Odyssey of the Seas, and sometimes with a smaller luxury or expedition ship as well. On those days, more guests are moving through the terminal exit and along Curetes Street at the same time, so an early start and a guide who already knows the route both help.

Our note on busy port days covers how we plan around a full pier, whichever ship you are sailing on.

What to tell us when you inquire

Tell us AIDAblu's arrival and all-aboard times from your own daily program, and whether you would rather have a German-speaking guide or an English-speaking one. We plan the day backward from your all-aboard time either way and reply through our inquiry form within 24 hours.

Questions cruise guests ask us

Can I see Ephesus on my own from the AIDA ship, without a guide?

Yes, taxis and shuttles into town run on most call days, and Ephesus itself is easy to reach independently. A private guide adds the history behind what you are seeing, buys your tickets in advance, and watches your ship's all-aboard time all day, which is the main thing an independent visit has to manage alone.

Where does AIDA dock in Kuşadası?

At Kuşadası Cruise Port's main pier, the same berth used by other large ships; tendering is possible at this port but rare, and AIDAblu normally docks alongside. Right outside the terminal exit, a private guide is waiting with a sign, usually within a minute of you stepping out.

What excursions does AIDA offer at Kuşadası?

AIDA sells its own shore excursions to Ephesus, booked and priced through AIDA directly. A private tour with a German-speaking guide is a separate option, suited to a smaller group who want their own pace and their own vehicle.

How long does AIDA stay in Kuşadası?

Nine to ten hours on every AIDAblu call we track, arriving between 08:00 and 10:00 and sailing again near 18:00 or 19:00. That is a full day ashore, longer than most lines that call at this port, and long enough to combine Ephesus with a second site in the same day.
